Introduction
Words are powerful. They shape our reality, define our experiences, and transform our circumstances. I am Elizabeth Akunyili, a sex therapist and storyteller from Nigeria, and I have witnessed first-hand the transformative power of words. Over the last seven years, I have journeyed through challenges such as pornography, abuse, sexual assaults, low self-esteem, and self-doubt. Through it all, I discovered the ability to speak life and healing into my situation, and now, I want to share this with you.
The Power of Declaration
In the book of Genesis, when God saw darkness, He did not dwell on it; instead, He declared, “Let there be light.” The same principle applies to our lives. The power of life and death is in the tongue, and by speaking the right words at the right time, we can shift our circumstances.
Often, the right time is not when everything is perfect but when life feels overwhelming—when darkness surrounds you, when hope seems distant, and when your situation appears impossible. In those moments, speak your change into existence.
Speaking Light into Your Life
Choose to say, “Light be.” Declare it over every area of your life:
- To your health: Light be.
- To your mind: Light be.
- To your finances: Light be.
- To your relationships: Light be.
- To your business: Light be.
We bring life into things by speaking. Our words create, heal, and direct the course of our lives.
Affirming Your Health
Let us declare:
- I enjoy good health. All goes well with me.
- I am strong in my body, my spirit prospers, and my soul thrives.
- My joy is medicine, and my hope is secure in Christ Jesus.
- My heart is constantly joyful, and my spirit is resilient.
God’s will for me is divine health. The diseases of the world have no place in my body because healing is my inheritance. Jehovah is my healer. By His stripes, I am eternally healed.
The Power of Healing Words
My words are filled with grace and healing:
- Like honey, my words bring restoration to the hearers.
- I speak wholeness to my body, mind, and spirit.
- Every part of my being—my eyes, organs, tissues, and limbs—responds to divine health.
I am not a victim of sickness or affliction. The Lord has delivered me from every form of harm. Anxiety, stress, and grief will not take me out. No situation is strong enough to break me because God has provided a way of escape.
Rising Above Challenges
Life’s difficulties do not define me. I refuse to cave in to guilt, shame, or pressure. My faith anchors me, and my strength is renewed daily. The resurrection power of Christ is at work in me, revitalising my mortal body.
- This is not my end.
- I am not defeated.
- I am whole, attractive, and radiant with God’s glory.
Divine Health as a Lifestyle
I am intentional about my well-being:
- I nourish my body with wisdom, exercise, and proper care.
- I do not subject my body to unnecessary stress or neglect.
- I am diligent and disciplined in maintaining this temple God has given me.
- I receive divine wisdom to steward my health and mind.
Living by Faith
My health is governed by faith, not circumstances. I do not grow complacent about divine healing. Every day, I embrace deeper levels of health and wholeness.
- I do not make excuses for sickness.
- I live in divine health.
- I walk in the full provisions of God’s healing power.
Conclusion
Words are not just sounds; they are tools for transformation. By speaking life, healing, and restoration, we align ourselves with God’s divine plan. No matter the situation, declare victory. Say it until you believe it. Say it until you see it manifest.
Light be!
