You have been chosen in Christ beforehand for God’s will

This isn’t one of those “your life is your own” conversations; this is sonship and surrender. It is easy to assume we have been chosen so we can prance around shoving our freedom in other people’s faces. The Bible says In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1: 11-12

We have been studying the inheritance we have in Christ and how we were always ordained to receive this access but the access we have isn’t access for access’ sake. If we do not know this, like the prodigal son, we will collect inheritance just for inheritance’s sake and a day will come when someone could see us and not recognize that we have been with God.

Our freedom and acceptance in Christ always was and always will be but if we are ever humble enough to look at God and ask what He wants, we will begin to find words like will, counsel, purpose, praise and glory.

Does your life right now align with the will of God? Does your hope in Christ lead to the praise of God’s glory? Are your decisions rooted in the counsel of God?

Sometimes, God’s will is the irrational position.

• Who sends a murderer to return to the city of the crime and go become a deliverer?
• How does a child get anointed with words to tell his predecessor about judgement on his house?
• Who sets a child over nations to pluck up, throw down, destroy, overthrow, build up and plant?

When the will of God is the irrational position from our point of view, would we still dare to accept our positions as those accepted in the beloved and explore God’s purpose, will and counsel so that He might get the praise?

It is okay to feel fear and confusion sometimes but that’s where you remember that access to the Father is in your inheritance. Go and talk to God and then bring him praise and glory by living according to His will which He has planned.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

God’s will is to prosper you always. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth (3 John 3: 1-2)

Activity

• Make a list of everything you believe God is calling you to do but you are too afraid to dare
• Prayerfully research scriptures for similar situations and how God led the person. Also, pay attention to what God is telling you directly during this study. Expect God to speak to you.
