How will the conference help me build the life I dream of?
Generational curses often refer to patterns of negative experiences that persist across family lines. However, it is essential to recognize that many of these “curses” are, in fact, instances of trauma that have effectively transcended generations.
Trauma is not limited to direct personal experiences such as rape or domestic abuse; it can permeate through familial and societal structures, impacting individuals indirectly as well.
Trauma manifests itself in various ways in our everyday lives:
We may find it challenging to slow down and simply take a moment to breathe, constantly feeling the need to be on the go.
As a result of our past experiences, we may struggle to receive love or seek help, fearing that it will make us appear weak or vulnerable.
Even when we recognize that certain relationships are toxic and detrimental to the life we desire, we may find ourselves unable to end them, trapped in a cycle of dysfunction.
Confronting situations or individuals, even when we are right, becomes difficult due to our fear of conflict and chaos, or the fear of being labelled as “aggressive.
The fear of losing or having relationships taken away from us can prevent us from fully enjoying and investing in them.
We may have difficulty accepting things without feeling that we must endure suffering or prove our worthiness, whether it be in friendships, love, career advancements, or other aspects of life.
The aforementioned examples are only a few among many, and when we find ourselves feeling down, reverting to harmful habits or addictions we promised to leave behind, or tolerating toxic relationships we know we should walk away from, it becomes crucial to seek more than just positive affirmationsWhile positive affirmations can offer temporary relief, we require more than just encouragement. What we truly need are empowering tools that enable us to liberate ourselves from these habits that we have used as coping mechanisms to navigate the pain we’ve endured. These invaluable tools are precisely what we aim to provide at the Awedacity Conference, drawing from both biblical wisdom and therapeutic approaches
