Ps.23.3 – He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
God restores my soul; brings my soul back into its original design and functionality. How does He do that? He leads me in the path of righteousness
A while ago, I had a horny month and I started to contemplate getting married because I cannot burn ? After all, Brother Apostle Paul said to get married rather than to burn.
One of those mornings, I heard the Lord say clearly “I’m not trying to rescue you from the burn!” Ha? My escape plans are gone.
The Lord was saying “I’m not trying to get you to escape before the pressure gets to you. I’m not trying to sneak you out of the situation. Yes, you will get out but not so you can escape the situation.“
Think about it “What’s your testimony when you escape?”
The Lord restores our soul by taking us through the path of righteousness but then, what is the path of righteousness?
Isa.60.17 – For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron: I will also make thy officers peace, and thine exactors righteousness.
When we read Isaiah 60, we scream as we declare but let us revisit this verse in the amplified
“…I will appoint peace as your officers and righteousness as your taskmaster“
An officer enforces a rule of law and a taskmaster receives no excuses.
The path of righteousness is the path that receives no excuses. The path of righteousness is the path of responsibilities, tasks, rules of law, and intentionality. The path of righteousness is not the way we escape life.
Lord, why? Why can’t I just be a Baby Girl and live gently? Mind you, God is guarding your heart and mind with peace even with all these responsibilities. But why? Why must I be so responsible?
Ps.23.3 – He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
- For His reputation sake
- For His perspective sake
- For His glory’s sake
When they asked Jesus who sinned? The man or his parents, Jesus said it was for the glory of God.
What if our miracle isn’t coming right now because of the glory of God?
What if God is trying to announce himself in your neighbourhood with a new name and “your path of righteousness” is how the name gets out?
You: Lord, save me!
Him: I already did! I’m saving you right now from everything that’s ever tampered with your soul (your ability to believe, to receive, to open, to share, to heal, to rest, to war, to show up etc.). I’m restoring your soul through this path of righteousness.
Conclusion: the responsibilities God gives you are revealing the capacity of your person that you don’t even know is there. When the weight comes, pray for strength and wisdom to rearrange and carry them instead of looking for an escape
Prov.24.10 – If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.
Jer.12.5 – If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?
The truth is, the day comes when we have to run with horses and God is preparing us.
